Guest vrakas
Hi there, i have added the Greek laguage to my cart and all seems to be ok apart from one letter when i add text although i might copy and paste it, the α that keeps changing to Β . I played around with the encodings but it makes no diference. I am open to any suggestions. :w00t:
Guest vrakas
Brooky i need a solution to this problem. Apart from the above problem when i try to EDIT the language description text of the product it will not allow me to do so and not even to DELETE it. So now i have 3 discriptions in other languages for one product that i can not edit or delete any of them. The product name has no problems in Greek. Tryed with version 3.00, 3.01, 3.02 and 3.03 and all have the same problem. This also occurs when i type in Greek in the product information while/under the English description. Sample of Greek language - Καλημέρα σας This is what happens - ΚΒλημέρΒ σΒς No problems when i type here in Greek */*

Al Brookbanks
It is an issue with FCKeditor and the way it encodes stuff. Just going to have a look at their forums...
Al Brookbanks
Have you seen this? http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2994681 Maybe that guy found the solution? I have to be honest and say I have no idea.
Guest vrakas
I will try and remove the FCK editor and see if there is any diference. Brooky thanks your honest opinion :)

Guest vrakas
I would like to thank Goober999 for this excelent mod and for getting me (without knowing) out of a tight spot. I tryed the mod and it seems that FCK editor does give some problems in Greek language. This is the direct link to them that need this FCK ON/OFF Switch Thanks again to Brooky, Alistair for the effort and Goober999 for the mod. I will test this more later and let you know the results. <_<

Guest estelle
I figured out a solution to the FCK Editor greek alpha problem. Seems to work, but I haven't bothered to read the code closely so I'm not promising a perfect fix Backup these three files: rte/editor/js/fckeditorcode_ie_1.js rte/editor/js/fckeditorcode_gecko_1.js rte/editor/_source/internals/fckxhtmlentities.js Then open each file in turn and do a search for Beta. You will find four occurances of this string. - Change the 1st occurance to Alpha - Don't touch the 2nd occurance - Change the 3rd occurance to alpha - Change the 4th occurance to beta This also fixes the problem of lowercase beta changing into uppercase beta. Guest vrakas
Not working I changed the files mentioned but it still translates to Beta. I read somewhere this: So, my workaround was to comment-out all greek entities in these files: How can i do this so i can give this also a try Tryed it just now on 2 diferent webpages, not working
Al Brookbanks
Working on this now...
Al Brookbanks
The database isnlt incrementing... bugger. Execute the following MySQL commands replacing ##PREFIX## with your store prefix if you have one.... Thie will delete any langauges you have already made for the product. TRUNCATE TABLE `##PREFIX##CubeCart_inv_lang` ALTER TABLE `##PREFIX##ubeCart_inv_lang` ADD INDEX ( `id` ) ALTER TABLE `##PREFIX##CubeCart_inv_lang` CHANGE `id` `id` INT( 11 ) NULL AUTO_INCREMENT

Guest vrakas
Run the querys it seems that i can now edit and delete in other laguages under site documents (only this i have tested). The problem with the a to B still exsists although i even changed the code page for the fck editor fckdialog.html fckeditor.html fckeditorarea.html You have to replace charset=utf-8 with iso8859-7 This also doesnt work I am going crazy
Guest vrakas
Latest updates. I comment-out in the 3 script files all lines that have to do with Greek and its the same thing There must be something else somewhere that does thiese things. :D
Al Brookbanks
:D I've had one of those unproductive days where nothing works! Anybody want to get a job with me in a petrol station?
Guest estelle
vrakas, it didn't work for me immediately either. Try clearing your browser cache. Then it should work fine. Or, try switching from FF to IE or vice versa. Anybody want to get a job with me in a petrol station? Actually no. But I'd be happy to swap with you :D
Guest vrakas
@estelle IE sometimes doesnt want to load FCK so i switch to FF that works. here is the results This is the title = δοκιμα (no problem) amd this are the details = ΒνΒποδΒ (no a). Here is one example - solution It seems that its finding it from somewhere else Do you know how we can stop it from doing this checking? Guest estelle
Well.... my changes have definitely fixed the alpha to beta problem on my computer. My website clearly shows ΑΒΓαβγ. I'm using firefox, but I also tested it in IE with the same result. And I was able to insert that exact text into the homepage, and into the product language descriptions. So, if you've cleared your browser cache.... I can't help any further, buddy.
