I have a test site using the old version and I’ve just install the new version on another test site I hope to launch in the near future! Fingers crossed! I have found a few posts on one of the problems I’m having but I can’t see the exact problem I’m having or a solution. Problems: eMail: eMail is working on my old 2.0.1 test site 100% OK as far as orders anyway. When an order is placed an email arrives for the customer and the seller within seconds. I can see no email config for 2.0.1 It just works! Note. Both sites are hosted on the same ISP and account! When placing an order on my new test site 3.0.4 I have problems sending email! There are 2 configuration options. If I set SMTP and Localhost as recommended I get no customer or seller emails. If I set Mail() I do get email sent to the Seller email address but not the Customer. Email Customers option works. Order Status option works, which sends emails to Customer. Customer order email sent to Seller is sent only with Order number and Link. I need to also have the full order email as it was with 2.0.1 ? Order Form: /modules/gateway/Print_Order_Form/orderForm.php There is no Return to store option via a Link! Version 2.0.1 has a link that takes you back the Home page. Return to the store! Stock option: I have hidden this in Admin which leaves the “In Stock†text in place when viewing a Product. The number of stock does get removed. When in “View Basket†the Stock is now showing! These are in order of importance, email being very important as no use at all if not working properly! Guest hennaboy Posted October 10, 2005 Share Posted October 10, 2005 Ok Email.... in your admin general settings what have you got for the email config? Look at the section titled Styles & Misc You have email address, Mail sending method and so on. Have you got authentication set to on? what port number. Also is your webhost Unix based or windows? As for the stock. There is the option to use the stock levels for your products. Go to your products and then you can set the stock level. Choose if you wish to use the stock level. I have the following configured: Email Name: I have entered my site name here which works with the "Order Status Change" option! So it works for one but not the order options?? Email Address: my own working email address! Tested! Mail Sending Method: Mail() SMTP Host: localhost I've entered this! SMTP Port: 25 Use Authentication? No Even though I've entered some of the SMTP info I have not entered an SMTP user name and password as I have not selected SMTP, I'm using the Mail() option. Note. I guess I can edit the file and insert a link but is there a reason for this change from the older version! If a customer orders this was then they get no Link back to the shop! If you your Back on your browser you get "Warning: Page has Expired " and have to click Back twice to get back to the shop! This I think I can correct but what I need to know is this as per ver 3.0.4 or is this a bug in my install etc...? Any idea what this eMail problem could be? Thanx anyone...
