Guest sound
Hi, I moved this coz it didn't belong where i posted it I was just havin a look over the whole orderign processing setup I noticed that, once i logged in as a customer i added 1 item to my basket. Me/customer - logs in.. taken to home page.. clicks view basket.. 1 item in my basket.. clicks continue.. click continue.. click continue to use the stores paypal gateway.. Don't make the payment for whatever reason on the paypal page and closes the page. Log in as admin to my store.. Click Orders.. Click Order No View the order summery for the customer: Order Summary Product Code Quantity Price test TESP7 1 €8.99 IP Address: xxxxxxxxx Order Date/Time: Jan 02 2006, 23:57 PM Payment Method: PayPal Shipping Method: Per Item Subtotal: €8.99 Total Tax: €0.00 Shipping: €4.00 Grand Total: €12.99 View the Order Status for that customer and see the order is Pending. I'm thinking, the fact that the admin sees information in the order summer and info in the order status (pending) Doesn't this explain that one of your customers has an order in their basket that they yet have to make payment for = (pending) ? I feel a bit stupid not knowing alot about how payment systems should opperate and intertwine., but i need to know. Half the time i find myself guessing, asking tons of questions. But it's all good learning, i hope i don't have all these worries when i have some real clients/orders. -- To add to that.. Modify Status: If status is changed from Pending to Processing you will get the option to send the customer an invoice receipt and grant access to digital products if applicable. I'm using the standard paypal setup. :P
Guest estelle
I'm not sure what statuses they use in other carts, but in this cart: Pending = order has been placed, but payment might not yet have been completed. Processing = payment has been received and you are now preparing items to be shipped, or for digital goods you would now grant access to digital goods. Completed = goods have been dispatched If you are using an online gateway such as PayPal (IPN), and if you get it all setup correctly (this has been discussed - do a search), then when payment is successful the cart should automatically change the state to Processing and grant access to digital goods.
